Team Rivalries Heat Up

The winter is a great time to get bigger, faster and stronger for next season. The start of the spring is a great time to see where you stand.

Teams from across New Jersey, New York, PA, Long Island, CT and the rest of the Tri Stat area will be standing strong against some of the top players and teams from the Northeast Region.

"We have been coming for all 14 years, this event is part of our off season program" says St Anthony's assistant coach Mark Maeir " The players get to compere against other players in the tri state area and they get to see where they stand" says Maeir

Players compete individually while earning points for their team. The base events include the 40 Yard dash, Pro Agility and Broad Jump. Then a host of individual and one on one's . Points are earned in all areas and the top three teams are recognized with MVPs at each position.

The comeptition within the competition is how teams get to size each other up for next football season. " We come to set the tone for next football season" says Notre Dame Defensive Coordinator and Strength Coach John McKenna " The players enjoy coming here every year and get a lot out of the event". Notre Dame is a three time Football Challenge Team Champion and has been to all 14 events.

The High School Football Players who compete this year will be the first football players other than the New York Giants to use the new state of the art Timex Performance Center. This will be the ultimate competition at the biggest venue.
